A purpose-built home in a residential part of Stanford-le-Hope
Cedar House opened in October 2012. The front of the building is two storeys. Behind it, single-storey bedrooms, a conservatory and a glass-fronted dining room look onto a garden with a wooden pagoda.

Day-to-day life at Cedar House

Rooms you can make your own
Residents and relatives can decorate and furnish rooms to their own taste, with photos and things from home.

Gardens on three sides
Ground-floor bedrooms open onto the middle or back garden, with flower and vegetable beds and a wooden pagoda.

Visitors at any time
There are no set visiting hours. Pets can visit too, as long as the residents are happy with it.

Something on most days
An activities person runs sessions four afternoons a week, with social evenings, outings and holidays for those who can go.

We talk about the care needed and how it will be paid for. Some rooms are for residents funded by their local council.

The people behind Cedar House
Cedar House is run by Christian Care Homes, a registered charity founded by Mico Bienvenu. About 100 people work for the charity across its homes.

Hugo is the nominated individual for Cedar House on the CQC register. He holds a Master I in International Business Law and a Master II in International Economic Law from the University of Paris Panthéon-Sorbonne.
